Hello again,
its the tight arse, brit boy back again bringing you the next chapter in this Hyundai bad back brake saga.

well after many thoughts on this, and with the car, off the road as the man at the testing station said, you no can useio, or you could kill many on the roads.

Unknown to you all and Hyundai, this had a second test as per video, the clue was in the slip of paper with 2 hand written on it.  test was made after adjusting shoes to correct the none auto adjust which had not been working, as per initial video on play list, this went for a re test with shoes correctly adjusted and proved fault not in shoes, and as piston was leak free, and not seized, not in piston,  but it still failed.

so after looking and establishing fault is not in any normal wear items, and more than just auto adjusts.  it was decided to go on the booked earliest 18th slot and get the car at least useable again.

Then we can see exactly how hi und eye, wriggle out of this with what they are going to blame as the reason why my life and others was put in danger and avoid taking any fault in there systems.

so the following video which was made on being advised the car is completed and now with ITV certificate, which means is legal to use on the roads again.
covers the return of the loan car a renault clio, and the day activity and dealers keenness to show me parts removed of which he blames the problem.

the repairs took 8 days as parts had to be sought,  strange for a main dealer not to have supposed standard wear items on the shelf, do you not agree.
i mean if they wear in only 25,000 miles or so, then would be a standard stock item surely, so this is alarm bell 1,  why 4 days to get standard brake shoes and pistons,

anyways alarm 2 signal, the sudden change of attitude and showing me the pads and pistons they had kept in a secret special cupboard, also he advised drums were also changed indeed he stated complete rear brake assemblies, and yet, no hubs were in the secret cupboard.

Strange how pistons looked good as did the shoes and yet he says piston was not working right, and couldnt show any fault.
alarm signal 3,
surely pistons either seize or leak, no seizure or leaking evident on the brake pistons and drums we looked at, the problem was something before the drum, air in system or some fault further back.
Its a shame we could not know what problem was, and guess will never know, but it will remain one of lifes mysteries, but, my thoughts were, how long do we keep the car off the road and induce own costs, and try our own repairs.
when if we found anything, it would only be our word against the mighty massive hi und eye corporations.  and so at least now the car is back on the road, ok its been off road for nearly a month, and christ knows how long i have been driving this death trap, but at least its done,

with no thanks to the appalling Hyundai back up, which is a disgrace and the worst of any car manufacturer dealer i have encountered in my life, and i have dealt with Honda, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Fiat, Audi, VW, Vauxhall, and also none of these cars ever failed a first Vehicle test, and i am sure if they did then alarm bells and immediate attention would have been made.

so alarm bell 4.
Why was the Hyundai dealers not bothered or suprised that a Hyundai i 20 failed first test on bad back brake,
is it that it is pretty normal, is it that it happens regular, a known problem maybe,
that makes you wonder,

Now we also bring a serious issue for your own consideration, this is alarm bell 5,

They say the problem was in piston on that drum, and yet it all looked fine to the eye, so, lets follow that idea through,
how would you know if its faulty again,
how long before the fault reappears,
does it only show when some wear is made to the shoes, and as such in a further year will i be driving a dangerous car yet again.

so many alarm bells ring on this,
and also i will show the results from the 3 MOT vehicle tests it had.
the very first initial test failure, and the one made after adjusting shoes to correct the none auto adjust which had not been working, as per initial video on play list, this went for a re test with shoes correctly adjusted and proved fault not in shoes, and as piston was leak free, and not seized, not in piston,  but it still failed.

and also show the test result from the pass on the test which gives us the green light to use on the road. and a sticker required in spain,

alarm bell 6,

you will see the problem was weakness on right back brake, and out of balance with left back brake, in laymans terms left back is pulling far more than right back.

the difference if to big equals a failure, which it should as indeed as i stated in wet driving conditions, to big a difference will snake and twist the car and create an uncontrolable snaking action and cause a crash and death and blood and guts to be splattered everywhere.

alarm bell 7,
On the new passed test it looks like its only just scraped in as a big gap between the 2 exists still, albeit within pass tolerance still not what i consider great.

alarm bell 8,
You will note that on new models all rear brakes have now gone to disc brakes, is that as i suspect because they know there rear drum brakes are shit and prone to be faulty.
makes you wonder, does it not.

Finally do i trust this car anymore, nope not in the wet, indeed i would never take this car on a long journey if there is a chance of rain,
so i am left with a car which will get the shopping localy, or trundle in the sun down to the town and back, and thats about it , as i am still convinced that once these shoes wear a little the problem will be there, and i would take a punt here and go so far as to be convinced this is not the only faulty hi und eye on the roads as you watch this, and should it be raining, well if you see one, then keep a very wide berth, as we are in the realms of the who knows.

thanks for watching. follow the whole story from start to finish on our new website, www.Hyundai.com  and others, also on our you tube channel.
be informed, pre warned is safer than only finding out when your a mess of smashed body parts and metal.

bye for now, this has been, updates from that old tight arse britboy in spain. who has had a month of stress and hassles and now forced to only drive this car in the dry, and only if no rain is forecast in the region.

so thanks for nothing Hyundai .
